It’s Time for a Spring Tune Up!

Now that the cold weather is floating away and we are enjoying our evenings outside, it is time to check up on your home. Let’s make sure your home is ready for the April showers so you can rest easy and decorate it with May flowers. 

1). Inspect your roof. 

     Even if the weather was mild this winter, it is always a good idea to have your roof inspected annually to make sure there is no damage that can lead to needing an entire roof replacement! 2). Clean the gutters.

     Make sure you clean the debris and any leaves out of the downspouts and gutters. Look for any holes or sagging gutters that might need to be replaced. Be sure the downspouts are all facing away from your home!

3). Schedule an HVAC Tune-Up.

     Make sure your HVAC unit has new filters, clean ducts and vents, and make sure no debris is around the outside of it. A professional AC technician can also check the efficiency of your system, address any issues before the summer temperatures, and check coolant levels.

4). Spruce up your lawn and landscaping.

5). Conduct home safety checks.

     Check your batteries in smoke and carbon dioxide detectors. Make sure your fire extinguishers are full and the needle is still in the green zone. See that your furnace is clean to prevent any potential fires and double-check that all dangerous substances are locked away if you have children. Check your deck for any loose boards or exposed nails and if it is elevated, look to see if any posts need to be reinforced.
